At the Slavik branch of the Boys and Girls Club Pasadena, Leslie Cross volunteers to teach a sewing class to kids from 4th grade and up (and Miss Jessica, one of the counselors at the club, joined in too).

At the end of this session, the kids will be able to take home a quilt that they made themselves.
The kids are always surprised to find out that sewing also includes plenty of math and engineering, in addition to the creative and social aspect of the activity.
This has been a wonderful experience which Leslie hopes to volunteer for again in the Fall.
