The 2015 5th Annual Taco Festival is this Saturday the 22nd from 12-7pm in Grand Park Downtown Los Angeles. What’s unique about The Taco Festival is that the creators are not taco experts, they are an organization dedicated to solving the problem of youth homelessness with their Boyle Heights based non profit, Jovenes, Inc. Jovenes was created as a place to help homeless youths between 18-25 with personal transformation into adults. They provide everything from permanent housing to helping youths get off the streets and into their own apartments. The festival was help the last few years in the Mariachi Plaza where they were able to close off a few streets and showcase some of LA’s best tacos. This year, for the first time, The Taco Festival will be held in the heart of Downtown at Grand Park where they will bring in some awesome bands, showcase the best of LA’s tacos and create a unique experience where people can have fun and support a great cause. Admission to the Taco Festival is free. They will also be having a raffle for those who donate to win free tickets to a Los Angeles Lakers Game.
Sponsors and vendors at the event include: Danny’s Tacos, My Taco Guy, Viva Los Cupcakes, Homeboy Industries and more. See the full list here.
