The Myers House – Halloween (1978)

Famously known and frequently visited home here in Pasadena, lies the Myers house. Where 6-year old Michael slaughtered his sister Judith with a kitchen knife. It is also located directly across the street from the hardware store where Michael stole his legendary white faced mask in the original. The Victorian details of this home made it the perfect choice for a horror movie.
Rialto Theater – Scream 2
1023 Fair Oaks Ave., South Pasadena
This classic theater served as another set for a classic horror film, Scream 2. Numerous movies have been filmed here as well but nothing is better than the scene in Scream. It serves as the premise where in the movie, it is the premier of Stab featuring Jada Pinkett Smith; the beginning of the film turns into a preview of the mayhem to come.
The Freeling House – Poltergeist (1982)

One of the scariest movies in the 80’s was filmed at this house in Simi Valley, the unique home was the set of Steven Spielberg’s 1982 thriller Poltergeist. A very suberby home featured when ghosts commune with them through the television set. Initially friendly and playful, the spirits turn unexpectedly menacing, and, when Carol Ann goes missing, Steve and Diane turn to a parapsychologist and eventually an exorcist for help.
Nancy’s House – A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)

This residential Colonial-style home in West Hollywood serves where Freddy Krueger stalked Nancy Thompson’s dreams. This leafy street home resembles a middle-class suburban neighborhood in the Midwest, making it an ideal location for Wes Craven’s mega popular film.
The Lambert House – Insidious (2010)

If you have yet to see the series of films that leads back to this bone-chilling paranormal film, Insidious; then you are definitely saving yourself from some nightmares. The Lambert house is where a young couple and their 3 kids move into this gaping 1909 home. The eldest son falls into an inexplicable coma and the rest is horrifying from there.
The Rosenheim Mansion – Murder House
1120 Westchester Place in Los Angeles
A historic landmark in the city and famously featured in AHS, “Welcome to… murder house.” The Rosenheim Mansion was built in 1902 taking 5 years to complete. Interesting facts serve this property as it was a private home until the Sisters of Social Service, a Catholic organization, owned the house for over 50 years. The castle-like exterior was a perfect choice for the first season of the hit FX show. Yet, other films have been shot here as well; featured in Spider-Man, Seabiscuit, The X-Files, The Twilight Zone, Six Feet Under, Dexter, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Andy’s Foster Home – CHILD’S PLAY 2

We all know chucky, the 1990’s sequel of Child’s Play; Andy is sent to live in a foster home in a large two story Craftsman house in South Pasadena. His demon doll Chucky, unfortunately is able to track him down and continues his plan to possess his body.
Wonderland Murder House

If you have watched Boogie Nights or Wonderland movies, the secret of John Holmes is tied to this apartment in Hollywood Hills where he was suspected and trailed for the murders of four known drug dealers.
The Moran House – The Entity (1982)
523 Sheldon St., El Segundo.
This home is very well known, in the mid 70’s a divorced mother claimed to have been sexually assaulted and her children attacked by a group[ of unrelenting entities in this Culver City home. This paranormal story became the basis of the 1978 best seller, The Entity, which sparked the film and shot on the street in El Segundo.
Sanders House, AKA “Thriller House”
1345 Carroll Ave., Los Angeles)
If you are a fan of the legendary Michael Jackson, then you must know his hit song thriller. This Victorian house in Angelino Heights is the shack that was savagely attacked by zombies in the 1982 music video. Not a horror movie in particular, but definitely a famous video that topped every pop hitting song in the 80s.
