Fall has just arrived and so has the month of October; which means sweater weather is in full effect as well as getting into the spirit of Halloween. If you’re ready to enjoy all your classic scary movies or if you are in the mood for a spooky experience, we got you covered. Six Flags Fright Fest

Everyone knows about six flags’ scary rides but every Halloween month they also expand to their thrill by decorating the park entirely at night and adding six haunted mazes, eight scare zones and three live shows. For season pass holders or members, they get to reap all the benefits of the park. The pass to get into the mazes themselves is sold separately for both members and daily visitors; they start at $30-50 for a fright pass plus access to all mazes.

Halloween Horror Nights

100 Universal City Plaza, Universal City, CA 91608

An LA classic theme park that everyone knows about for their famous effects and scary immersive mazes. Universal studios definitely knows how to put on a show when Halloween comes around. Since it was cancelled due to Covid last year, there is no doubt this time around they are going to put on a bigger show. Select nights from Sep. 9- Oct. 31 2021

Knotts Scary Farm

8039 Beach Blvd, Buena Park, CA 90620

If you are in the area of OC then it’s a must you visit this Southern California theme park. Locals know far too well Knotts is the originator, this park put on the world’s first theme park, a Halloween Haunt event in 1973. With their new scenes and scare zones that take over the entire park, it’s a different vibe from the rest. Tickets start at $45-$129.

Los Angeles Haunted Hayride

4730 Crystal Springs Dr, Los Angeles, CA 90027

A truly unique experience in the old zoo of Griffith Park, now in its 13th installment. This park experience will have you on a hayride through the mountains. It is known to get packed and sold out as well so book in advance and make sure to check this one out. Great for families and groups of friends.

Haunt O’ Ween LA

Haunt O’ Ween is all about an expansive family friendly space that features 35,000 pumpkins, which is perfect to put you right into the spirit of Halloween. The list is endless when it comes to this Topanga event, it hosts a variety of food and drink options, face painting, games and much more.

Descanso Gardens “ Carved”

1418 Descanso Drive, La Cañada Flintridge, CA 91011

Carve event returns this month from Oct. 11-31; this family friendly event promises 1 mile of creative carved pumpkins alongside oversized sculptures and bright lights through their gardens. There will be carving demos, a pumpkin house, and a hay maze to enjoy. Food options as well as drinks will be available in a picnic style seating.

Delusion

House of Spirits

House of Spirits: A Haunted Cocktail Soirée is an immersive cocktail experience that combines the thrill of the supernatural and magic with themed cocktails. This cocktail experience offers an elegantly haunted manor, a giant ouija board that you can ask questions to, serving a variety of drink options as well.

Nights of the jack

Nights Of The Jack is an immersive Halloween experience for all ages. It’s vast grounds of intricately hand-carved and illuminated jack o’lanterns welcome visitors as they make their way through a walking trail around King Gillette Ranch in Calabasas. Visitors will also have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a Halloween wonderland featuring a live pumpkin carver, gift shop, top LA food trucks, their “The Spookeasy Bar” and tons of other moments for everyone to enjoy.
