We scoured the lists for LA’s spookiest (best) neighborhoods to take your little monsters trick-or-treating, and these are the ones near you! So grab the kids, and pack extra large totes for all the candy you’ll be able to steal from them later!
Eagle Rock– Hill Drive
Eagle Rock is in the epicenter of the hipster revolution, and Halloween will prove it! Those hip folks in Eagle Rock seem to have the edge on everything, and Halloween is no exception. Hill Drive, astonishingly decorated, is the place to be when it comes to trick-or-treating. There’s always a ton of people, and of course candy.
Burbank– Mariposa & Valleyheart
Burbank was one of the areas that was on a few of the lists we found (3 of them to be exact!), so you know it’s gotta be good! Head south of Mountain View Park, between the LA Equestrian Center and Disney Studios, and you’ll find yourself on Mariposa and Valley Heart. Burbank is home to many production studios, so you’ll find magic makers from companies like Disney here, who go all out with spooky decor as if it were straight out of a movie set. They also do haunted houses, and shows right on their lawns, so it’ll be like a little taste of “Halloween Time!”
South Pasadena– Anywhere, especially Mission, El Centro, Oxley, and Montrose
South Pasadena is the perfect setting for Halloween evening, and apparently, the perfect setting for Halloween the movie, too! This just about makes it the capitol of Halloween USA! Needless to say, the historic Craftsman style homes dress up for the occasion to look, if possible, more haunted. Any one of the neighborhoods is good for your trick or treating needs, but if you want to make a stop at the “Michael Meyers” house, the address is 1000 Mission Street, South Pasadena, CA.
Sierra Madre– Alegria Street between Baldwin and Mountain Trail.
Found nestled in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains, between Pasadena, and Altadena, you can find this woodsy small town, ready for Halloween night. As you can see, Craftsman style homes are the go-to for a spooky feel, and there’s plenty of them in Sierra Madre. But, most important of all, they are generous with the candy!
Montrose– Montrose Shopping Park on Honolulu Ave
Check out the Montrose Shopping Park on Honolulu Ave for the Halloween Trick-or-Treat Spooktacular! Shop around while the kids stuff their bags, it’s a win win! It all starts at 5 pm and you can make it a great starting point, as the neighboring streets are great for more trick-or-treating.
Silver Lake- Armstrong Ave, or Coronado & Sunset Blvd
Silver Lake is another one of the areas that made it on to multiple lists! One reason is you can enjoy a Halloween block party right on Armstrong Ave! The street gets closed off for all pedestrians to have a spooktacular time. For less multitudes of people, you can check out Coronado and Sunset Blvd. There, several homes host yard haunts with special effects. There are tons of trick-or-treaters, so parking is tight and so is the candy, so make sure to arrive early. Lastly, look out for crowds, as there might be a show about to start!
Pasadena– Old Town, Monterey Rd & Windsor Pl, or Marengo Ave & Fair Oaks
Pasadena has the best of both worlds. From amazing shops on Colorado Blvd. celebrating the night, handing out candy, and organizing costume contests, to festive neighborhoods waiting for excited trick-or-treaters. It’s just a matter of choosing your vibe for the night!
