REWILDER was created by Lisa Siedlecki, an accessories designer who has worked with numerous fashion houses in New York and Los Angeles, and Jennifer Silbert, a Los Angeles designer who has worked in material development and architectural problem solving that combines architecture, design and manufacturing to foster innovation. Lisa graduated from Drexel University with a degree in Fashion Design and has since traveled the world designing and producing bags, accessories, and small leather goods for contemporary labels and luxury brands. After graduating with her Bachelor’s Degree in Design and Art History from the University of Pennsylvania Jennifer has worked on projects, both big and small, that have centered around the creative use of materials. Her love of repurposing started as a child and has continued throughout her professional career as designer, teacher and fabricator.
Together they created , . REWILDER, a handbag company with the simple idea to take beautiful, strong materials that are being thrown away and give them a second life. They repurpose their products, meaning that they are not making new material; instead, they use materials that are already made previously. Repurposing is better than recycling. They pride themselves on having the price of their products reflect the actual cost of producing items in a responsible manner in the US. They also support organizations that keep plastic out of the ocean, and keep waste out of our local natural resources.
It’s companies like this that are helping change the world. Shop their handbags here.
