There is an overwhelming amount of updates and information floating around right now, but that’s a good thing! It’s extremely important right now to stay up to date, and safe, of course, during these difficult times, as we are all in this together.
We have compiled very important information, relevant to our NELA and Pasadena communities, in order for our neighbors to stay calm and informed.
Confirmed Cases Nearby
A list of confirmed cases was released yesterday, Monday March 16th, by the LA County Department of Public Health. The list outlines cases by location, though this doesn’t mean any one city is in the clear. Please keep in mind that there may still be people carrying the virus without yet having symptoms and not yet diagnosed.

Ways to Stay Safe to Prevent Spread
We should already know the obvious importance of some of these simple steps to prevent and avoid community spread, but now we are all counting on it.
- Hand-washing. No, but seriously, this time for reals!
- Wash hands with water and soap often for at least 20 seconds before eating, after using the restroom, as soon as you get home after being out and about, and after coughing, sneezing, or blowing your nose. Use hand sanitizer of at least 60% alcohol when soap and water are not available.
- Social distancing
- Avoid touching, or even being in close proximity to others.
- Avoid groups of 10 or more people.
- Try not to touch your face, especially eyes, nose, and mouth.
- Disinfect frequently touched surfaces.
- If you are sick, stay home.
- Cough or sneeze into tissues, then discard of them immediately.
Business Closings and Changes in Operation
As you may know, as of Monday, March 16th, all bars, nightclubs, dine-in restaurants, entertainment venues, and gyms and fitness studios are closed to the public. Bars and restaurants may sell food for take out only.
