Downey Farmer’s Market on the corner of Downey Ave and 2nd street.

Saturday mornings are usually filled with errands, family events and other things that need catching up on that the work week does not allow for.  In the city of Downey however you will find the Saturday morning tradition of the Downey Famers Market.  Located on Downey Avenue, between 2nd and 4th streets, a stroll through the market will present you with your usual organic fruits and veggies, along with your raw honey vendors, florists, and organic eggs and poultry.  The market is intended to be a community gathering place, an opportunity to purchase California-grown products, and a means to support the Downtown Downey area.

In addition, here you will find vendors selling ready to eat food such as Baja style fish tacos, bacon wrapped hot dogs, pupusas, a Cuban bakery.  You will even find a local realtor and why not, since Downey Real Estate has been booming for some time now.

Local Organic Honey

It is a great place to spend a few hours on Saturday morning, picking up some items or strolling with the family or friends.  One of the local honey vendors is a local resident of Downey and has been selling her honey here for six years.

So when you find yourself in the neighborhood, please stop by and spend some time getting to know your neighbors and enjoy what the City of Downey has to offer.
