Fun in the Sun at the Montrose Brewfest!
With summer just around the corner, there are tons of great outdoor events to enjoy this beautiful SoCal weather. Socialize, network, taste local flavors, and enjoy craft beer! Last Sunday, in the heart of Downtown Montrose, beer aficionados and foodies gathered at the annual Montrose Brew Fest for a taste of the best craft beers around.
Nestled at the foot of the San Gabriel Mountains and Angeles National Forest, Montrose is known for its historic small town feel. Retro style shops and cutting-edge cuisine give this town its own unique hip vibe. Just minutes away from the metropolis of LA, it is the perfect setting for an outdoor Brewfest highlighting LA’s best local craft and micro-breweries.
Over 30 local breweries gather on the streets for craft beer tasting and an array of tasty bites to go along. Skip the lines and get right to the fun with a VIP ticket and early admission. Draw the short straw? That’s okay, the Montrose Brewfest wants to make sure everyone gets a safe ride home, so Designated Driver tickets come at a significant discount! For those of you that are coming to enjoy the food AND drink, you’ll be treated to unlimited beer and food tastings with your ticket. This is a 21 and over event, so bring your parents, grandparents, co-workers, boss, or best friends! But, please leave the kids and pets at home.

It’s not all just about the food and brew, the Montrose Brewfest has some killer entertainment too. Often pulling in local bands, this year’s lineup included Calico The Band and LA River Bend. LA River Bend has emerged from Atwater Village’s Eastside indie rock scene with a New Folk feel. Calico the band, a female fuelled Americana band from LA has been called “The best of LA’s country past, present and future,” by No Depression. This year, Montrose Brew Fest also teamed up with the iPhone video app #MyCamCan to highlight participating breweries and sponsors in the Montrose Brew Fest social media campaign.
Drinking, dining, dancing, new friends. What more could you ask for? Well, now you’ll have a chance to put your skills to the test in the Home Brew Contest for a chance to win recognition, prizes, and fans. Special rules apply, so make sure to check out the website before next year’s Brewfest for all the details on how to enter.
