Free art tours in Pasadena!

ArtNight Pasadena occurs twice per year (March and October), where the city’s most prominent museums and cultural institutions open their doors for free and offer special programming. Attendance reaches 28,000. Complimentary shuttles are brought in to transport visitors around to different venues, begin your evening at any one of the venues on the shuttle route and make your way around until your back at your starting point.


Armory Center For The Arts | Diane Chistensen and Jeanne Dunning: Birth Death Breath An opera “performed” by inflatable lawn decoration in various stages of inflation and deflation, prompting existential questions about life, death, purpose and meaning.

Artcenter College of Design | Modern and contemporary non-iPhone images of the self, in this LACMA/ArtCenter collaboration, This is Not A Selfie: Photographic Self-Portraits from the Audrey and Sydney Irmas collection.

artWORKS TEEN CENTER | Live performances and visual art by artWORKS teens. The interactive evening includes hands-on printmaking, stamping, and musical entertainment.

City of Pasadena City Hall | Talks about free art tours by Metro Art and a woodworking workshop with Side Street Projects. Enjoy a snack while you listen to live music and catch a free shuttle to one of the many cultural venues open for the night.

Jackie Robinson Community Center | Artwork from Alkebu-Ian Cultural Center; learn about the history of African American art and the legacy of Pasadenaand world icons Jackie and Mack Robinson.

Kidspace Children’s Museum | Art is visible, even in the dark. Explore luminescent artistry at Kidspace. Create captivating rainbow images, make a glowing diorama and interact with the hula hoop glow field. Visit the interactive Glow Gallery where Kidspace artists showcase their work.

Light Bringer Project @ Day One | Down the Rabbit Hole An outdoor wonderland of art featuring site specific installations, Room 13 creations, dream-inducing music and other playful imaginings from the mirror world.

Lineage Performing Arts Center | Lineage is a home for connecting through the arts. Local performing artists alternating between live dance and live music.

Muse/Ique | Street-rocking rhythms and jaw-dropping dance moves at Paseo Colorado Garfield Promenade. Live music and family-friendly art activities.

Norton Simon Museum | Taking Shape: Degas as Sculptor, an exhibition that explores the improvisational nature of Edgar Dega’s artistic practice and considers the affinities between sculpting, painting and drawing in his oeuvre.

Parson’s Nose Theater | Return to those thrilling days of yesteryear with scintillating drama drawn from classic scripts from The Golden Age of Radio such as “Flash Gordon” and “The Shadow”.

Pasadena Central Library | Explore, discover, experience STEAM at your Pasadena Public Library through science, technology, arts and music.

Pasadena City College | Kori Newkirk solo show in the Boone Family Art Gallery (brochure essay by Travis Diehl). Joshua Haycraft (interactive video) solo show in our Gallery V-108.

Pasadena Museum of California Art | Testament of the Spirit: Paintings by Eduardo Carrillo; The Feminine Subline; and Ana Serrano: Homegrown. Enjoy an experimental performance in Kenny Scharf Kosmic Krylon Garage.

Pasadena Unified School District at First Methodist Church | No Boundaries 13 showcases the artistic talents of PUSD students in the beautiful surroundings of First United Methodist Church. View hundreds of artwork and student performances.

Shumei Art Council | Taiko druming by Makoto Taiko at 6:15 pm, 7:15 pm, 8:15 pm and 9:15 pm and Kimono Show by LA Kimono Club. Also, view inspiring drawings of children of indigenous people by artist Deborah Lomas.

USC Pacific Asia Museum | Explore the PST: LA/LA exhibition Winds from Fusang: Mexico and China in the 20th Century and create your own art in a hinds-on printmaking workshop.’
